Inspiring Children at Camp

We are all struggling with the same issues – our children are exposed to so many external influences, from social media to films to just conversation in school and on the street. Jews and Christians are sending their children to school programs with religious content. We are bringing our children to synagogue and church. But there is truly no better way to inspire a child and especially a teenager than through the informal education that is available at summer camps, weekend programs, vacation Bible school and similar activities.

Kimberly Troup, Christian Zionist director of CFOIC Heartland’s US office, and Tommy Waller, also a Christian Zionist, recall their experiences and those of their children at vacation Bible school and summer camps. Sondra Oster Baras, an Orthodox Jew who has devoted her life to reaching out to Christians all over the world to bless Israel, shares the Jewish experience of summer camps and especially of the Religious Zionist Youth Movement Bnei Akiva. This international organization, centered in Israel, was founded more than 100 years ago and continues to inspire Jewish youngsters all over the world, towards God and towards the Land of Israel. This is a discussion we can all learn from. Watch this video and pass it on to your friends!
