Torah (1)

Portion Behukaotai lays out blessings, rewards, curses and punishments. Shmuel shares a story about the Sanz Rebbe, a famous rabbi whose family perished in the Holocaust. The Sanz Rebbe had experience with curses and darkness, but he had great insight into blessings and the coming redemption of the Land of Israel.

  1. Shmuel connects this passage to the importance of returning to Israel, highlighting the importance of the Land. It is in the Land where the true blessings will be experienced.
I absolutely support this statement to the hilt and suggest that ‘Aliyah’ has never been more important than it is now. I have no Jewish ancestry so, sadly, I do not think I would be allowed! Clearly, the future is Israel, not the nations. we will, as ‘the nations’ come under judgement as to how we treat Israel right now.
