Tekoa – Art Center Accelerator

GIVING A FUTURE FOR ARTISTIC PIONEERS

Unlike many neighboring communities in the Biblical Heartland, the pioneers of Tekoa, a community in Judea located just south of Jerusalem, have held a very special appreciation for the power and utility of art. Nothing is more emblematic of Tekoa’s regard for art than its art center.

The Tekoa Art Center is truly a one-of-a-kind institution in Judea and Samaria. Founded five years ago to expand opportunities for artistic growth in the Biblical Heartland, the center provides a platform for innovative, professional artistic expression in the region. Thanks to CFOIC Heartland, the art center has successfully hosted art exhibits for two years in its Madeleine Greenwald Art Gallery and has recently secured government recognition with the promise of ongoing support for regular art exhibits. Moreover, the art center encourages collaboration between artists of various disciplines including traditional Jewish and heritage arts. The Tekoa Art Center has also launched “The Madeleine Greenwald Award For Promoting an Original Artistic Creation in the Field of Visual Arts” for local young artists to participate in, which needs annual funding to sustain it. Applications remain open to participate in 2026.

The Tekoa Art Center would like to take on a second initiative in helping to propel the careers of aspiring artists in the region. As part of the project’s vision, artists would be given a six-month plan, with professional mentorship and logistical support, to take their works of art from concept to two public performances. But these artists need your help to make their dreams a reality!

The Tekoa Art Center needs your help to make the dreams of aspiring artists in the Biblical Heartland a reality! With your support, artists in the region will be given the tools and inspiration to create masterful works of art, strengthening the industry in the Biblical Heartland! The impact of your gift will be felt for generations!
