Beyond the books, libraries always serve as a hub of community activity. Workshops, classes, children’s shows, and other activities for children all take place in the local libraries. But in small or isolated communities of Judea and Samaria such as Rechalim and Avigayil, a public library is not a privilege – it is a vital resource for strengthening community bonds and growth.
A warm, close-knit community in Samaria that offers young religious couples a vibrant environment for personal growth, Rechalim offers affordable and spacious homes, presenting a unique combination of rural life with access to urban areas. Just a ten-minute drive from Ariel, residents enjoy easy access to employment opportunities, a university, and other aspects of city life.
Rechalim has always struggled to provide the most basic needs to its residents and never managed to establish a local library However, Rechalim is currently in the final stages of establishing a library that will serve as a center of knowledge and culture for the community’s children and adults alike. The residents of Rechalim have invested their own resources into the initiative and have also received extensive support from the regional council. However, the pioneers of Rechalim need your help to complete the project, to turn their dream of a library into a reality.
The importance and function of a community library is no less vital for Avigayil, a largely underdeveloped community that is isolated and surrounded by large Arab villages and cities. Fortunately, Avigayil has a small library and would like to further develop it by expanding the building and adding new furnishings, but they cannot do so without your help.
