An Attitude of Gratitude – Heartfelt Thanks from Har Gilo

January 21, 2020by Meira Weber The last thing we were expecting to show up on the doorstep of the CFOIC Heartland Israel Office that day was the rain-soaked and windswept Chief of Security from Har Gilo. He blew in like the storm raging outside, bursting into the office with a huge, exhilarated grin and carrying … Read more

Shaarei Tikva – Keeping Families Safe.

While the community continues to mourn the loss of their security chief and dear friend, they know that if he were still alive he would discourage them from letting one act of hatred stop them from following their God-given purpose. He would encourage them to build another house, hold their babies close, and tell their loved ones that they love them.

Gitit – Indoor play area

With your help they can purchase toys and games and install a large indoor sand-box.  This space will be used every day! All of the babies and toddlers will be so excited to have a safe place to play as they are growing up in the heat of the Jordan Valley.  And their parents will enjoy the air-conditioned fellowship as they come together to watch their children.   Imagine the smiles of delight, and the squeals of joy as the children safely run and play

The Bonfires of Lag BaOmer

Last week, we celebrated Lag BaOmer, an ancient Jewish holiday that connects us to the events of the Bar Kochba Rebellion, the last Jewish revolt against the Roman Empire which came to a tragic end in the year 135. In Israel, we celebrate the day by lighting bonfires, reminiscent of bonfires that were used by the ancient rebels to send signals to one another. Today, the bonfires are pure fun, as children and adults gather around, roast potatoes and hot dogs, sing songs and just enjoy the warm fire against the usually cool night air.

The children of Maale Levonah need you!

Maale Levonah Gymboree has seen better days; it is dilapidated, run down from all of the good fun use over the years. It desperately needs a face lift. The building must be renovated and new Gymboree games and equipment must be purchased.

The people of Tekoa are safer because of you!

The people of Tekoa gathered the strength to keep going, working, building, believing that settling the land and raising children in the Biblical heartland, with their strong values, are the best ways they can contribute to Israel’s future.

Bekaot – PIONEERING SENIOR CITIZENS

The senior center will be open every morning so that seniors have a place to go, rather than staying home alone. The community has already designated a building for this wonderful center, but they have no funding for programming and activities. The community is now turning to you, for help with the cost of lectures and creative workshops for the seniors. This gift will improve quality of life for Rachel and others like her living in this rural community. It will give them reason to get up and out of the house each day.

by Kimberly Troup Hebron, Shechem, Jerusalem…  What do these three cities in Israel have in common?  If you read most newspaper articles, they list them as being in the “Occupied West Bank”.  However, if you read your Bible you find detailed accounts of real estate transactions, money changing hands, when Jewish patriarchs BOUGHT these three … Read more
