Since October 7th, the community of Karnei Shomron located in western Samaria, has faced a heavy, emotional burden. Eight residents have fallen in battle, and at least fifty have been injured. Hundreds more have been called up for reserve duty with others waiting to return to the fight in the north. Mothers, young children and parents who await their loved ones’ return from war are enduring ongoing stress and anxiety. Recognizing this traumatic toll, Karnei Shomron is providing these families and returning soldiers with creative workshops and emotional support, equipping them with the tools they need to cope and regain a sense of purpose and joy. Your gift will uplift pioneering families in Biblical Israel in their darkest hour!

Dear Friends,

The Bible tells us that when God called out to Samuel, he responded with one word- “hineni” commanded him to bring his son Issac up to Mount Moriah for an offering (Genesis 22:11)

Many people walk through life searching for purpose and in the process, hear a call to action. Yet very few answer that call and listen to their inner voice urging them to act and make a difference.

In this edition of Nahala, we have the privilege of introducing two unique and inspirational individuals who actively pursued their respective callings. Like Samuel and Abraham, Pam Culpett, hailing for one of the farthest corners of the globe and Yohanan Kuznitz, a leader of the very community in which our CFOIC Heartland office is located, listened to their inner voices and said “hineni.”

I pray that all of us have the strength and confidence to say “hineni” whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Shalom from Samaria,

Shmuel Junger

Pam Culpitt: Sounding the Shofar in a Time of Need

Yonatan Kuznitz: Pioneering Since Birth

People often wait years to discover their ultimate purpose in life. So it was for Pam Culpitt of Brisbane, Australia. Pam was not raised with any awareness of the God of Israel; however her eyes were always open to absorb the truth whenever it presented itself.

Sitting at his desk late one afternoon, Yonatan Kuztiz reflected on the personal journey that ultimately led to his election this past February as the mayor of Karnei Shomron.

“Ten years ago, then mayor Herzl Ben Ari told me: “You will be the mayor of this town one day,” Yonatan recalled. “And here I am.”

Thank YOU!!

We have received this thank you letter from Nofei Nehemiah for your contribution to purchase Shabbat Meal boxes. You, our donors and supporters, are the ones who really make it all happen. The thanks belongs to you!

Dear friends at CFOIC Heartland,

We wanted to thank each and every one of you for the very significant and heartfelt contribution you gave to our community in our time of need!

Nofei Nehemiah is a young community that like so many others in Judea and Samaria, was completely upended on October 7th. Almost all of our men were immediately drafted into reserve duty leaving behind their wives and children. Families were left wondering when their husbands and fathers would return home and how they would maintain a normal family routine with the man of the house absent.

Suddenly, one week we received countless boxes of food to be distributed to families throughout Nofei Nehemiah for their Sabbath meals. Each of the families were comforted, not only with a very restful Sabbath but also with the knowledge that they have friends like you who care so much about them and their welfare.

Words cannot begin to describe the light and strength such generosity from you provided for us. We pray that God will bless all of you with goodness, health, and happiness.

With the most heartfelt blessings,

The families of Nofei Nehemiah
