Shabbat Shalom! This week’s Torah portion Kedoshim opens with a powerful statement: Be holy as I am holy. But what is holiness? How can a person connect to a holy God? Shmuel dives into the wisdom found in this portion- and reveals that holiness may be closer than one might think.

  1. Very good indeed. We as a community need to live holy, God directed family lives. Thank you! Even in this retirement home, where we aren’t, for the most part, direct family, we are together a greater family, so the same principle applies. We help our weaker brothers and sisters, even if most of them fall in that category. It isn’t easy, many times I forget, but I need to strive for that purpose! And to honor the nurses who are helping all of us, and of course the directrice, is a part, too.

  2. Thankyou for the teaching on living holy lives. In this ‘crazy’ world God’s truth remains and in following that we have life and peace. Perseverance like the third group digging down to the sweet water was a beautiful illustration. Enjoyed listening to these wise words…we can be holy in our every day lives.
