Celebrating a Jewish Wedding

Many tourists who have visited Israel and have never been exposed to Jewish customs before, find themselves “dropping in” on a Jewish wedding if there is a wedding taking place in their hotel. And they are usually amazed at the goings-on. Lots of singing and dancing, hundreds of people. And everyone is having such a good time! Well, if you have never seen a Jewish wedding or if you have, but want a better understanding of what you saw, watch this newest episode of Facing the Divide!

Sondra Oster Baras, an Orthodox Jew who has devoted her life to reaching out to Christians all over the world to bless Israel, provides an in-depth understanding of Jewish wedding customs. Sondra is joined by Kimberly Troup, Christian Zionist director of CFOIC Heartland’s US office, and Tommy Waller, also a Christian Zionist, who have each participated in Jewish weddings and have taken away their own insights from the experience. Whether you are Jewish or Christian, you will find this discussion fascinating and enlightening. Watch this video and pass it on to your friends!

I was blessed to have a number of Christian friends at my sons’ weddings. Click here to read a lovely essay written by former CFOIC Heartland US President, Margy Pezdirtz, describing her experience at my son’s wedding. And click here for my own perspective on that same son’s wedding.
