Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur

https://youtu.be/E-d778-wIK0

Jews often refer to this time of year as the High Holy Days. It is a time that includes the Jewish New Year and the Day of Atonement. The Bible does not reference a New Year but refers instead to a “Day of Blowing”, implying the Shofar. Many Christian Bibles erroneously translate these words and refer to the day as the Feast of Trumpets. Definitely confusing! Thanks to centuries of muddled translations and misunderstandings, the meaning and traditions of these sacred days have so often been lost. But in this month’s episode of Facing the Divide we will try and clarify it all for you.

Sondra Oster Baras, an Orthodox Jew who has devoted her life to reaching out to Christians all over the world to bless Israel, provides an in-depth understanding of the holiest days in the Jewish calendar. Sondra is joined by Kimberly Troup, Christian Zionist director of CFOIC Heartland’s US office, and Tommy Waller, also a Christian Zionist, who will share their perspectives on these Biblical days and, together with Sondra, will reach new understandings of key Biblical verses. Watch this video and pass it on to your friends!
