Leshem

In 1983, a group of pioneering families following in the ideological footsteps of Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin established a new community in the hills of western Samaria. Like Begin, these pioneers were driven by an unwavering commitment towards securing the entire Land of Israel and restoring every corner of the Biblical Heartland. Seeking to honor Begin’s wife Aliza who had passed away in the previous year, they called the new community “Alei Zahav,” a Hebrew acronym of her full name.

Over the next several decades, Alei Zahav’s founders built a thriving community now comprising over 5,000 residents. In 2013, approximately 30 young and Biblically devout families helped grow and expand Alei Zahav further, moving to two hills adjacent to the community. They established a new neighborhood called “Leshem,” bearing the same name as the ancient city in northern Israel that was liberated by their ancestors from the tribe of Dan (Joshua 19:47). Leshem grew very rapidly, with as many as over 600 people moving to the neighborhood in just over a decade!

United in kindred spirit with the rest of Alei Zahav in the mission to rebuild the Biblical Heartland in its entirety, Leshem’s pioneers celebrated in March of this year when the Israeli government gave them authorization to become their own distinct community in Samaria! With Leshem’s change in status as an independent community comes new responsibilities, most important of which is the maintenance of security. Potential intruders from Arab villages located directly to the north and west have routinely been spotted approaching Leshem’s perimeter.

In just over a decade, Leshem grew to a community of over 600 pioneers!

As a very new community of its own, Leshem’s emergency response teams remain largely underdeveloped and lacks crucial emergency equipment including helmets and vests. The Israeli Ministry of Defense has provided Leshem with two security vehicles, however, neither vehicle is fitted with vital emergency equipment and tools. The residents of Leshem desperately need your help to fully equip their emergency response teams. Please help protect the pious and devoted pioneering families of Leshem with your generous donation today!
