Community at a Glance: Tekoa

This is the series you have been waiting for – the chance to visit communities in Judea and Samaria, from the comfort of your home, and catch a glimpse of life in each and every community.

Looking down upon the panoramic, breathtaking views of the Judean desert from Tekoa is truly a inspirational experience. It is a place of connection between ancient and modern, inspiring both a sense of meditative calm and creative energy. Tekoa is mentioned extensively in the Bible, in Joshua, Samuel, Amos, and Chronicles. And archaeological findings point to Jews having lived there from the time of Joshua all the way through to the Middle Ages.

Nowadays, Tekoa is home to Jews from diverse backgrounds who have returned to resettle the land of their forefathers. Life in Tekoa, a mosaic of religious and secular pioneers, provides an environment infused with acceptance, deep spirituality, love of the land, and artistic creativity.

Home to over 200 artists, Tekoa wishes to nurture its community’s affinity for culture and arts. It has recently created a local artists’ center, a hub for the arts in Biblical Israel, and a center of spiritual creativity.

Join me in our newest Community at a Glance video, where we visit Tekoa. May God bless us all with good health, and may we meet in person soon, to tour Tekoa, where we can visit with the people you are meeting today on film.

Shalom from Samaria,
