About Megillot

The resolute pioneers who restored the Megillot region of the Jordan Valley accomplished the impossible! With determination and faith, they transformed the desert that existed in the northern Dead Sea region into fertile farmland, cultivating crops such as melons, tomatoes, peppers, onions, and planting date palms plantations and vineyards. Over time, the pioneers of the region developed other industries including salt processing, tourism and cosmetics produced from minerals mined in the Dead Sea region. Today, Megillot is home to eight small but thriving communities.
