About Sussya
Founded in 1980 near the archaeological site of ancient Sussya in the Hebron Hills is the modern-day community of Sussya that is deeply rooted in Biblical tradition and history. Inspired by their ancestors, the pioneers of Sussya revived the community and built a central synagogue aesthetically mirroring the main synagogue that existed in ancient Sussya. Despite its vulnerability to attacks from hostile Arab villages, the residents of Sussya have persevered through a mutual commitment to restoring and rebuilding the region. The pioneers of Sussya, many of whom are farmers and shepherds, work the very Land of Israel and are fully committed, just like the pioneers of ancient Sussya who preceded them, to ingrain their children with a profound and unbreakable love for God, the Bible and the Land of Israel.
