About Henanit
Founded in January of 1981, Henanit was originally established as an agricultural cooperative settlement by families who had moved to Israel from the Caucasus. Located in an isolated spot in northwestern Samaria and surrounded by hostile Arab towns, Henanit serves as a strategic demographic stronghold that strengthens Israel’s presence in the region. Situated near the ruins of Umm ar-Rihan, a Jewish settlement from the Second Temple era, Henanit’s very location attests to the ancient connection and bonds that the People of Israel have with the Biblical Heartland. Henanit’s very name, which means “daisy,” is a most poignant reference to the prevalence of the British Daisy flower that is seen beautifully blossoming throughout the natural landscape surrounding Henanit. Despite their vulnerability to hostility and security threats from nearby Arab villages, the more than 1700 pioneers of Henanit remain a resilient, close-knit community that only aspires to grow and flourish for many years to come!
