About Efrat

Located directly south of Bethlehem, the modern-day community of Efrat was founded on a bedrock of unbreakable resolve and a commitment to restoring Judea. In the decade following the Six-Day War of 1967, when the Biblical Heartland was liberated, a group of pioneers set out to revive a Jewish presence just south of the ancient city.  By Passover 1983, Efrat’s first pioneering families moved into prefabricated homes, planting the very first seeds of a functioning community. Over the decades, the vision of Efrat’s founding pioneers flourished. Now home to over 13,000 residents across seven hilltop neighborhoods, each named after one of the seven species of the Land of Israel, Efrat stands as a beacon of spiritual growth, academic excellence, and cultural vitality in the heart of Judea.

Raising funds to help Soldiers heal from Trauma

For months, Ayelet has been jolted awake by her husband Shachar’s screams—nightmares born from his service as a reservist since October 7. Carrying both his pain and her own left her exhausted and overwhelmed. Hope arrived through a new therapeutic program at Efrat’s Mental Health & Resilience Center, where certified therapists use creative arts to help reservists and families heal from trauma. Through ceramics, art, and music, Ayelet and Shachar began to recover together. Now, Efrat urgently needs your support to fully equip a creative arts studio. Your generous gift will help traumatized families heal, rebuild, and move toward a hopeful future.
