About Maale Ephraim

Established in 1978 on a mountaintop overlooking the Jordan Valley to the east, the community of Maale Ephraim offers stunning views as far as the Ammonite mountains on the eastern side of the Jordan River. Notwithstanding its relative isolation from population centers, Maale Ephraim was founded to be a regional center for nearby communities in the Jordan Valley. Serving as an educational and communal hub for the surrounding area, Maale Ephraim is home to a rural hospitality center, an industrial park and a Hesder yeshiva (an academy for males that combines religious studies with military service). With their resilience and leadership, the pioneers of Maale Ephraim will undoubtedly continue to contribute to further development in the region and the Biblical Heartland at large!
