About Tene Omarim

Nestled in the southern Hebron Hills, Tene Omarim is a resilient community shaped by both hardship and unity. Originally founded by secular Zionist pioneers in 1984, Tene Omarim underwent a major transformation in 2005 when religious evacuees from Gaza moved to the community. Despite their different outlooks on life, both the original residents and the newcomers created a harmonious and thriving community grounded in mutual respect and a shared commitment to settling Biblical Israel. Despite the many threats they have endured from neighboring Arab villages, the pioneers of Tene Omarim remain steadfast in growing their community and maintaining their presence in this strategic, symbolic part of the Biblical Heartland.
