Founded in 1976 in the Jordan Valley, the small community of Roi has grown into a close-knit band of some 50 families, comprising original pioneers and their progeny. Once a barren stretch of land, Roi’s landscape has been cultivated into fields of grapes, olives, lemons and flowers, all of which epitomizes Roi’s hard-earned prosperity and fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. Despite its isolation and vulnerability to terrorism, Roi stands as an emblematic model of making the desert bloom!
