About Mechora

Originally established as a military outpost in 1972, the community of Mechora absorbed the first group of pioneering families in 1976. The barren and desolate landscape that existed then has transformed into the thriving agricultural community that Mechola is today. Despite its relative isolation and constant security threats from the nearby Arab villages, the pioneers in the close-knit community of Mechora have made the desert bloom and adorned their fields with countless blossoming date palms and olive trees.
