222 The Days of Kfar Darom 1948In August 2005, the Jewish community of Kfar Darom was destroyed as part of Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. This lovely Jewish community was established on the sands of Gaza in 1970 and became a paradise of agriculture and family life. Overnight it was destroyed.
But Kfar Darom's history dates back to before Israel became a State. Read about the heroic and relatively untold story of the original Kfar Darom and its brave stand during Israel's War of Independence in 1948. A story of courage and dedication, a story of faith and Zionism, an inspiration for us all.
Kfar Darom fell twice – once at the hands of Arabs and once at the hands of Israel. May G-d enable us to see Kfar Darom rebuilt for a third and final time.
