Christian Friends of Israeli Communities was founded with one purpose in mind --to reach out, to educate the Church, to teach about Jewish history and particularly about the Jews currently living in Biblical Israel – the communities of Judea, Samaria and Gaza. In addition, CFOIC has sought to bridge the two worlds – the Christian world and the Jewish world – two people, two religions, which history has pulled apart. With the help of CFOIC, Christians the world over have stood up for Israel and have become cherished friends and supporters of the pioneers of Biblical Israel. Through CFOIC, they have learned about the Jewish people, their rich history, and their precarious current situation. Through CFOIC churches, ministries and individuals have visited the communities and have provided financial support for community projects, making a real difference in the ability of these communities to cope with the ongoing terror.
The Israel office of CFOIC – CFOIC-Israel - is the nerve center of this organization. In Israel, Sondra Oster Baras, the Director, has her finger on the pulse of day-to-day life in Biblical Israel. Sondra arranges for many tour groups to visit the Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza and she speaks to many such groups herself. From the Israel office, publications such as the monthly newsletters and informative brochures are created and distributed. CFOIC's website, recently updated, is managed out of the Israel office. And it is from Israel, that fundraising projects are chosen, written, nurtured, promoted and brought to fruition.
But CFOIC-Israel needs your help. In the same way that churches and ministries are asked to adopt a settlement, CFOIC is seeking both churches and individuals to adopt CFOIC-Israel. For as little as $25/month, you can become a partner of CFOIC-Israel.
